Nigeria is referred to as ‘she/her’ because of its concept of motherhood attached to the country. ‘Nigeria’ was first coined by Lady Lugard in an 1897 London Times article which also might be the reason for the country to be called ‘she/her’.

You’d be amazed to know that she is the largest oil-producing country in Africa, while being the 11th largest in the world.

A fact might interest you, is that the season for grief is considered to be nice than that of celebration, you might be thinking that what is it all about, right? Well, the Nigerians believe, that the rice served on a Burial tastes better than the rice served on a wedding.

Nigeria’s Third Mainland Bridge is the largest in Africa. In fact, Nigeria is believed to have the biggest historical monument of Africa ‘Jesus de Greatest’ which is a statue of Jesus Christ located in Abajah village in Imo State, Nigeria.
12. First African Country to win Gold in Olympics
Nigeria was the first African country to win gold medal for football in the Olympics. The national team has won the African Cup of Nations a total of three times.
13. World’s Fastest Computer designed by a Nigerian
You’d be surprised to know that the World’s fastest supercomputer was designed by a world-renowned inventor and scientist, Philip Emeagwali, a full-blown Nigerian whose patency was awarded in 2015. This means Nigeria has the patency to the world’s fastest computer.
