Snuggled between the Diablo Range, tucked away in the East Bay region of California, Livermore Valley is best known for its exceptional wine. Formerly known as Valle de San Jose (Valley of San Jose), this valley is located in Alameda County, California.

Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon were traditionally grown here. However, with experimentation and research, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties have become popular too.

Type Of Grapes Grown

A unique variety of green-skinned grapes, Sauvignon Blanc was first discovered in Bordeaux, France. Often referred to as Fume Blanc, this is one of the very few wines that goes with sushi. This wine forms an excellent pair with cheese, especially chevre. Sauvignon Blanc became one of the first fine wines to have a screwcap bottle.
