Balboa Island
An island straight out of 40’s American movies and you can take a ferry to the peninsula. You can shop for the infamous saltwater taffy from there and maybe get some souvenirs along Marine Avenue.
There is a Balboa Fun Zone on the island, with an entertainment area on the island with whimsical Ferris wheels and arcade games to take your time up. You can find the original frozen bananas there.
The Wedge Beach
The Wedge beach is a major surfing zone in Newport Beach. You can watch waves, witness the craziness of the surfers battling the ruthlessness of the tides. It also has free parking!
Boat Tours
The best way to experience the waterways of Newport beach is to rent a Duffy Boat and take a boat tour around the areas. Along the way you’ll come across Pirate’s cove where a scene of the movie “Beaches” was shot at.
Fashion Island.
Fashion Island is where all of Newport Beach’s shopping takes place! Enjoy the sunshine while shopping at world-class stores ranging from Neiman Marcus to Louis Vuitton.

Calling out to all the book lovers and with an amazing collection of historical books and a museum of living plants, this place is a heaven for them.

Anyone who parks a vehicle in a Park & Ride lot around town gets a free ride. When you park your car and hop on your bike for a scenic ride into town, you’ll be trading four wheels for two.

East Bay Path
The East Bay Bike Path winds its way from Providence to Bristol along the shore of Narragansett Bay, passing through coves, marshes, parks, and bridges.
Bike Loops
Several bike loops are available throughout the area, including the 10-mile Middletown Beach Loop, which begins at Second Beach in Middletown and travels to Third Beach, Wapping Road, and Prospect Avenue before returning to Second Beach. Here are more loops through our various coastal communities.
