There are approximately 2,668 billionaires today, but who is the wealthiest of them? The following are the top 10 billionaires in the world:

1. Elon Musk:

With a net worth of $203 billion, Elon Musk is the world’s richest man. He was born in South Africa and attended a Canadian university before enrolling at the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned bachelor’s degrees in physics and economics.

Musk is the CEO of Tesla, the world’s most valuable automobile manufacturer. The company, based in Austin, Texas, sells electric vehicles as well as home solar batteries. Musk is also the CEO of SpaceX, a rocket manufacturer chosen by NASA to resupply the International Space Station, and he owns Twitter.

2. Bernard Arnault:

France’s wealthiest man, with a net worth of $158 billion, is the chairman of LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, the world’s largest manufacturer of luxury goods. The founder of Amazon, the world’s largest online retailer, Bezos has a net worth of $117 billion. The Seattle-based company’s flagship website sells electronics, household goods, and other products. It also owns the Whole Foods supermarket chain and provides cloud computing and streaming services. In 2021, Amazon’s revenue was $470 billion.

5. Bill Gates:

Gates co-founded Microsoft, the world’s largest software maker, and has a net worth of $114 billion. In 2021, the Redmond, Washington-based company had $168 billion in revenue. The rest of his fortune is managed by Cascade Investment, a closely held company that owns stakes in dozens of publicly traded companies such as Canadian National Railway, Deere, and Ecolab.

6. Warren Buffett:

with a net worth of $109 billion, Buffett is the chairman and largest shareholder of Berkshire Hathaway. This investment firm has delivered a 20% compounded annual gain in market value since 1965. Geico, Clayton Homes, and Dairy Queen are among the companies owned by the Omaha, Nebraska-based company, which also has stakes in Coca-Cola and American Express.

Most of Buffett’s fortune stems from his 14% economic stake in Berkshire Hathaway, a publicly traded investment firm.

7. Larry Ellison:

With a net worth of $94.6 billion, Ellison is the founder and largest shareholder of Oracle, a database company with more than $40 billion in revenue for the fiscal year ending May 31, 2021. He owns more than 40% of the company based in Austin, Texas, as well as a stake in Tesla, a sailing team, the Indian Wells tennis tournament, and real estate, including Hawaii’s Lanai island.

The majority of Ellison’s fortune stems from his ownership of Oracle, a US software company.

8. Mukesh Ambani:

Ambani owns Reliance Industries, the world’s largest oil refining complex, and has a net worth of $93.8 billion. Other ventures of the Mumbai-based conglomerate include a 4G wireless network in India. The billionaire also owns a $400 million residential property and the Mumbai Indians professional cricket team. The majority of Ambani’s fortune stems from his 42% stake in Reliance Industries, which is publicly traded.

9. Larry Page:

 Page is a co-founder of Alphabet, the holding company for Google, the world’s largest search engine operator, and has an estimated net worth of $89.0 billion. The Mountain View, California-based company was founded in 1998 and reported revenue of $258 billion in 2021.  Gmail, Android, and YouTube are among the group’s divisions. According to Net Market Share, the majority of Page’s fortune is derived from his stake in Alphabet, the parent company of Google, the world’s largest search engine.

10. Ballmer Steve:

Ballmer is the former CEO of Microsoft, the world’s largest software maker, and has an estimated net worth of $86.2 billion. He retired in 2014 but remains a shareholder in the Redmond, Washington-based company that produces the Windows operating system, the Xbox game console, and the Surface tablet computers. Ballmer is also the owner of the Los Angeles Clippers basketball team.
